"The United States of America occupied the Philippines between 1898 and 1946 and abandoned many WWII army jeeps in their wake. Filipinos took these hideous hunks of blah green metal,
tools of war and colonialism, and transformed them into beautiful jeepneys, a public transportation system and cultural icon"
Jeepneys (Anna Luisa Petrisko) is an artist working in sound, video and dance. She was one of the first people I filmed when I started shooting videos and I've always been impressed with how defined her vision is.
Embracing neo-futuristic performance with traditional aesthetics;
Jeepneys embodies a multitude of personas.
